Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes Retro Music Of 2008
Fleet Foxes is a music group originaly from Seattle,Washington US. The group has five members they are Robin Pecknold on guitar and lead vocals, Skyler Skjelset on lead guitar, J.Tillman on drums, Casey wescott on keyboards, Christian Wargo on bass.
This band was firstly named “Pineapple”, but then Pecknold decided to change the name after clashed with another local bands with the same name. Pecknold choosed the name “Fleet Foxes” inspired by an evocative of some weird English activity like fox hunting.
As we can hear their music sounds like classic style of late 60’s sounds, Pecknold said “That’s right, We grew up listening to the music of our parents,” Robin notes, “The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, The Zombies, Joni Mitchell, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Love, Marvin Gaye, Bach, Crosby Stills & Nash, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, and every other perennial ‘60s band you’d expect to find in the record collections of baby boomers.
Their first ep “Fleet Foxes” was released only around seattle area in the fall of 2006, its success brought the band to eventual signing of Fleet Foxes to Sub Pop Records. The second ep “Sun Giant” released on February 25, 2008. On june 3,2008 they released their first studio album called “Fleet Foxes” (self titled) in US and released in UK on june,9 2008.
Several media outlets have given astoundingly positive reviews to the album such as Rolling Stone, The Guardian, uncut, Pitchfork, Mojo and Entertainment Weekly. Q magazine gave a vote to the album as the second best album of 2008 while it listed on “100 best records of 2008″.
